På Novakid kan barnet lära sig engelska som ett modersmål: Eleven tränas i att kommunicera med modersmålstalare. Lektionerna, som varar i 25 minuter, genomförs på ett lekfullt och samtidigt effektivare sätt – så att barnet behåller sin koncentrationsförmåga samtidigt som det sker en hållbar utveckling. Lärarens viktigaste verktyg är ett virtuellt klassrum som gör lektionen till ett spännande äventyr.
Novakids program är utformade enligt nivåerna A1 och A2 i Gemensam europeisk referensram för språk (Gers) som motsvarar Cambridge English YLE Starters, Movers och Flyers-testen. Under en testlektion bestämmer lärare relevant engelsknivå och följer utvecklingen i lärandet för att säkerställa framsteg.
Novakids program tar hänsyn till psykologiska egenskaper hos barn i olika åldrar. Under en testlektion bestämmer läraren vilken nivå barnet befinner sig på, utifrån ålder och kunskap. Novakids lärare och metodutvecklare följer framstegen och anpassar programmet efter barnets behov under hela lärprocessen.
Total Physical Response (TPR) är en metod där läraren visar bilder men även levandegör materialet med gester, ansiktsuttryck och rörelser. Barnen tycker det är kul att upprepa rörelserna efter läraren – och barnen lär sig snabbare och effektivare. TPR-metoden uppvisar i kombination med en kommunikativ approach goda resultat. Efter bara några månader med regelbundna lektioner kan vi se hur barn börjar tala, även de som aldrig har studerat engelska tidigare.
