My son has an English exercise about identifying gerunds.
One of the sentences is: "Swimming in the ocean is my favorite hobby." Could you help us figure out which word is the gerund?

Hope you're doing well! My kid has this homework about identifying conjunctions, and we’re stuck on one of the exercises: "She wanted to go to the park, but it started raining." Could you help us figure it out?

Hi! My friend texted, "Any one of us can help," but I think they meant "anyone can help." Are both correct, or is there a difference in meaning?

Ulwa needs help with identifying complex sentences, and we’re scratching our heads with it. One question asks, Which of these is a complex sentence:

She went to the store because she needed milk or She went to the store and bought milk?

Any tips on how to explain this would be awesome!

I was reading about unusual phobias with my children and came across "hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia."

I tried saying it out loud, but I got lost halfway and just gave up. Now I’m wondering—how do you actually pronounce this word?

Hey Miss, my kiddo is doing an assignment on past participles, and some of the irregular verbs are giving us a headache! The instructions say to rewrite the sentences in the present perfect tense using the correct past participle. Here's one we’re unsure about:

"They (go) to the museum several times this year."

I’d really appreciate it if you could take a look.

Helloo I was helping my Lena with a food project, and we came across "focaccia." I guessed it was "foh-KAY-sha," but Lena burst out laughing, saying it sounded wrong. Are there any pronunciation rules that could help avoid mistakes like this?

Hello dear teacher my friend and I were discussing Italian food, and I casually mentioned "Caprese," saying it like "Cap-reez." She laughed and told me it’s actually "Cah-pray-zay," but I’m not sure if she’s right. Can you clarify the correct pronunciation?

Asking about someone i heard say, "Do you know what time the show starts?" instead of just "What time does the show start?" Can you help clarify why we say it that way? Would love some tips for teaching indirect questions!

Hope your good teacher!
My daughter is having so much fun with her assignment on compound sentences, but she wants to make them more exciting! She wrote: "The spaceship took off, and the astronauts waved at the crowd." I love how creative she is, but I want to be sure she’s using the right structure. Another one she wrote is: "We could go to the beach, or we could stay home and watch a movie."

Does that work? Let me know if she should tweak anything—thanks a lot!

Hello!! I’m working on a project that involves finding my niche in the market, but I’m confused about how to say it properly. Is it “neesh” or “nitch”? I’d love your help with this.

Miss we want to ask about an exercise on picking out articles, and we’re not sure how to explain why some are used. For example: “___ car parked outside belongs to my neighbor” and “He wants to become ___ engineer.” Could you clarify? Thank you!

I was chatting with someone from the U.S., and they pronounced Qatar as 'kuh-TAR,' but I’ve always said it 'kuh-TAH.' Which one is right?
