Meet your English teacher Mika G!

Hello, I am Mika G. I have been teaching English since 2018. My intention to teach English derives from a lifelong passion for the subject instilled by my English teacher in my secondary school. I am passionate about creating engaging learning experiences and fostering a love for the English language. In my classroom, student engagement is encouraged at all times by using TPR, props, visual aids, and teaching aids such as puppets, whiteboards, flashcards & pictures. By using the latest teaching methodologies in my classroom I aim to build a schema that allows long-term retention of knowledge. Equally, a Growth mindset is at the heart of my lessons. And, by setting high expectations in my classroom, I encourage students to challenge themselves and continually strive for improvement. Beyond my professional interests, I am passionate about agriculture, surfing, ashtanga yoga, literature, and traveling. My superpower is that I am a scrabble queen. See you soon!
