When to use Apostrophe for Possessive?
Dear Miss. I came across a couple of exercises on apostrophes that I'm not sure about. Could you possibly help us out? Here they are:
Possessive apostrophes:
The childrens toys were scattered all over the floor.
This is Sarahs book, but I think Johns is over there.
Contractions:
Weve been waiting for hours, but theyre still not here.
Dont forget to bring your coat, its going to be cold later.

Hello!
For possessive apostrophes:
- The children's toys were scattered all over the floor. (Add an apostrophe for "children" because it's plural.)
- This is Sarah's book, but I think John's is over there. (Add apostrophes for both names to show possession.)
For contractions:
- We've been waiting for hours, but they're still not here. (Add an apostrophe in "We've" and "they're.")
- Don't forget to bring your coat; it's going to be cold later. (Add an apostrophe in "Don't" and "it's" for "it is.")
