Simple and Continuous Verb Tense Practice: Present, Past, and Future

Exercise: Use the correct simple or continuous tense.
a- Every night, Captain Flash ___ (watch) the city from the tallest building.
b- Right now, he ___ (chase) a group of villains down the street!
c- Last week, he ___ (save) a cat stuck on a rooftop.
Thx!

Hello, and thank you for your question! Tenses are so important, and I love answering questions on them. The key is to figure out whether events are happening in the moment, or with some sort of regularity, or in the past.
Sentence (a) uses the words 'Every night' - this indicates that the action happens with a degree of regularity, and so the Present Simple form of the verb will be used, namely 'watches'.
Sentence (b) uses the words 'Right now' - this indicates an action happening in the moment, and so the Present Continuous form of the verb will be used, namely 'is chasing'.
Sentence (c) uses the words 'Last week' - this indicates an action that happened in the past, and so the Past Simple form of the verb will be used, namely 'saved'.
I hope that you can use these principles in order to correctly do future exercises.
