Examples of Modal Verbs

"You ___ always be polite to elders" and "We ___ go to the park if it stops raining."
But she’s unsure which modals fit best. She’s a bit of a perfectionist, so she really wants to get them right!

Hello! This is a very good question, and it's awesome that your daughter wants to get it right.
Modal verbs are additional verbs that indicate either necessity or probability. They include words such as 'could', 'should', 'must', 'will', 'would', 'can', 'may' and 'might'.
In the first example you mentioned, the words 'must' or 'should' can be used. Both would be acceptable.
In the second example you mentioned, there are also a couple of options you could use, such as 'might', 'may' or 'will'. All of these are acceptable options.
I hope that this helps Katie.
