My kiddo has this English exercise on passive voice, and I’m a bit stumped. Could you help us out? Here’s what we’re working with:

Exercise:

A-Rewrite the following sentences in the passive voice:

A-1-The chef prepares delicious meals every evening.
A-2-Scientists discovered a new planet.

Hi there

Thank you for your question.

Active voice is when the subject of a sentence performs the action of the verb, while passive voice is when the subject receives the action of the verb:

  • Active voice: The subject performs the action. For example, "Liz played the piano".
  • Passive voice: The subject receives the action. For example, "The piano was played by Liz".

Pertaining to your specific queries or questions, the answers would be as follows:

1-The chef prepares delicious meals every evening - The meals are prepared every evening by the chef.

A-2-Scientists discovered a new planet - A new planet was discovered by Scientists.

A-3-My brother is building a treehouse - A treehouse is being built by my brother.

A-4-The students will complete the project by next week - The project will be completed by the students next week.

A-5-The company sent a letter to all employees - A letter was sent to all employees by the company.

I hope this helps you and I look forward to assisting with any further queries you may have.
