First, though, let’s see where 11-year-old traveller Marta Cruz is taking us. It looks like we’re heading for a piece of land in the middle of the ocean…
So those are the ‘islands of eternal spring’! Together with Marta Cruz, we’ve been to Tenerife, the biggest of the Canary Islands, in Spain. Tenerife owes its fantastic ‘lunar’ landscapes to a volcano, Mount Teide, and was literally formed from streams of molten lava. With its emerald slopes, covered with Canary Island pine, volcanic sand beaches in shades of anthracite and terracotta, and colourful towns with colonial architecture — bright two-storey houses with carved wooden balconies, isn’t this an ideal destination for your next holiday?
Now that we’ve been on our virtual journey with Marta, we can plan our own approximate route for a future adventure! The most interesting part is just beginning.
