Hello dear teacher my friend and I were discussing Italian food, and I casually mentioned "Caprese," saying it like "Cap-reez." She laughed and told me it’s actually "Cah-pray-zay," but I’m not sure if she’s right. Can you clarify the correct pronunciation?

Asking about someone i heard say, "Do you know what time the show starts?" instead of just "What time does the show start?" Can you help clarify why we say it that way? Would love some tips for teaching indirect questions!

Hope your good teacher!
My daughter is having so much fun with her assignment on compound sentences, but she wants to make them more exciting! She wrote: "The spaceship took off, and the astronauts waved at the crowd." I love how creative she is, but I want to be sure she’s using the right structure. Another one she wrote is: "We could go to the beach, or we could stay home and watch a movie."

Does that work? Let me know if she should tweak anything—thanks a lot!

Hello!! I’m working on a project that involves finding my niche in the market, but I’m confused about how to say it properly. Is it “neesh” or “nitch”? I’d love your help with this.

Miss we want to ask about an exercise on picking out articles, and we’re not sure how to explain why some are used. For example: “___ car parked outside belongs to my neighbor” and “He wants to become ___ engineer.” Could you clarify? Thank you!

I was chatting with someone from the U.S., and they pronounced Qatar as 'kuh-TAR,' but I’ve always said it 'kuh-TAH.' Which one is right?

Today at breakfast, I proudly asked for a croissant, pronouncing it the way I always had. My kids French friend gave me a horrified look and corrected me with what sounded like a completely different word. I felt like I had just offended the entire French language. Teacher, what’s the proper way to say it?

Hii again, we’re working on gerund clauses for homework, and this one is hard for us:

Rewrite the sentence using a gerund clause:
After she finished studying, she watched a movie.

Any tips? 🙏

Hii! Ulwa is working on of vs. from can you check if we used of or from correctly in this sentence? "She is a friend ___ mine."

And also,
For this sentence: "This gift is ___ you," we're not sure if it should be of or from.

Would love your thoughts!
