What does "Read the Room" mean?
Hi, Ahmed Al Fahad.
To “read the room” is to be aware and sensitive to the mood and feelings of the people around us.
If your son's teacher asked them to read the room, then the teacher was telling them to observe and understand what was happening or being discussed around them. The teacher wanted the kids to make appropriate comments or act accordingly.
We can say, “She has always been very good at reading the room. She knows that she needs to stay quiet when someone else is talking. And she also knows when to voice out her opinion."
