'Is' vs 'Has': Differences in Meaning and Usage
I read a sentence in a book: "The car is a flat tire," and it felt strange. Shouldn't it be "The car has a flat tire"? Can you clarify the difference between "is" and "has" here?

Hello! You are quite correct about that sentence not making sense.
The word 'is' is used to describe what someone or something is, whereas the word 'has' is used to indicate or describe possession or ownership.
Therefore, the correct sentence should read, 'The car has a flat tire'. If they wanted to use 'is', then they could say, 'The car's tire is flat'.

I hope that this helps you.
