Dear Miss, so my friend wrote a romantic Instagram post about his "fiancée," Sarah, but his French friend corrected him. "Fiancée with two ‘e’s’ is for a woman, mate—unless there's something you're not telling us!" it is funny no 😂😂? but what is the difference between one e and two ee ?

Here is the difference, Toma.
- Fiancé (with one e) refers to a man who is engaged to be married.
- Fiancée (with two e’s) refers to a woman who is engaged to be married.
Since French has gendered nouns, the extra e marks the feminine form.
So, if Sarah is the one getting married, your friend was right to use fiancée! But if he were talking about himself, he should’ve written fiancé.
