Kasia and Kamil Bekalarek have been part of the Novakid community for over two years. Their daughters, Hanna and Zofia, both learn English on the platform. In September, the family won a trip to London through Novakid’s Referral and Loyalty programme (Nova Club).

“We joined Novakid because we didn’t want Hanna to lose her English fluency,” said Kasia. “We had lived in Australia for two years when she was younger, and she started school there. She had a good foundation, and we wanted to keep that going after we returned to Poland.”
Hanna, now nine years old, has been taking lessons with Teacher Laura from South Africa since the beginning. The connection they’ve built is something the whole family values. “Hanna talks about her teacher all the time,” said Kasia. “She thinks of her as a grown-up friend. They have really nice chats, and she enjoys learning with her.”
When Zofia, the youngest daughter, began lessons in early 2025, she also started with Teacher Laura. But after a few months, the family tried a different approach. “In September, we introduced Zofia to Teacher Lettie, who’s also from South Africa,” said Kamil. “She’s really great with younger children, she brings Zofia out of her shell. Laura is wonderful, especially with older kids, but Lettie’s energy really suits Zofia’s age.”
One of the things the Bekalarek family appreciates most about Novakid is how easy it is to keep learning, even while on the go. “We didn’t stop our lessons during the summer holidays,” Kasia explained. “In fact, Hanna did her lesson at the airport while we were travelling to London this week! The lessons are short, and we can access the platform instantly. It’s great that she doesn’t need to be in front of a laptop. She just logs in on her tablet, and everything is ready.”
That flexibility helped the family stay consistent during competition, which combined regular lessons with fun games and collecting points. Their commitment earned them the top prize. “We played games, did our regular lessons, collected points, and we won!” said Kamil.
Hanna, for her part, is quite independent with her lessons. “She loves that she can interact with the games and homework by herself,” said Kasia. “She’s pretty much independent during lessons now. And when we asked her if she liked the games or the lessons more, she immediately said, ‘I love Teacher Laura more than the games.’”
Although the family had visited London twice before – once as a couple, and once with Hanna – this was Zofia’s first time.

During their holiday in London, the Bekalarek family explored some of the city’s most popular attractions. They visited the iconic LEGO and M&M stores in Leicester Square, browsed the shelves at Hamleys, and enjoyed a traditional high tea while taking in views of Big Ben and other landmarks on the Paddington tour bus.
At Tower Bridge, the girls completed the cat trail and saw the crown jewels, and then took a scenic boat ride along the Thames, to get a different view of London’s iconic sites and skyline. They also spent time at the Science Museum, took in the sweeping views from the top of The Shard, and wandered through the historic streets around Westminster and the green spaces of St James’s Park.

It was a well-rounded trip filled with sightseeing, learning, and memorable moments.
