مجالات استخدام زمن الماضي التام
صيغة past perfect، والتي تُعرف أحياناً بزمن الماضي التام، تُستخدم عند الحديث عن أحداث وقعت قبل زمن محدد في الماضي. من حيث المنطق، نحن نتحدث عن “ماضي الماضي” باستخدام هذه الصيغة.
مثال:
.I had already left the party by the time Ahmet arrived
(عندما وصل أحمد، كنت قد غادرت الحفلة بالفعل).

ببساطة، يمكننا تشبيه العلاقة بين present perfect tense وpresent simple tense بالعلاقة بين past perfect tense وpast simple tense. فالأول يتحدث عن الحاضر، بينما الثاني يتحدث عن الماضي.

كيفية استخدام زمن الماضي التام
تكوين جملة باستخدام زمن الماضي التام (past perfect tense) له منطق بسيط. نستخدم الفعل المساعد “had” متبوعاً بالفعل الرئيسي بصيغة “-ed” إذا كان الفعل منتظماً، أو الصيغة الثالثة إذا كان غير منتظم. لا يلزم تغيير الفعل المساعد أو الفعل الرئيسي بناءً على الفاعل.
مثال:
.You had loved them before the graduation
(كنت تحبهم قبل التخرج).
في هذا المثال، الفعل love منتظم، لذا يأخذ “-ed”.
مثال:
.Nastya had made coffee for us when we came
(كانت ناستيا قد أعدت لنا قهوة عندما وصلنا).
في هذا المثال، الفعل make غير منتظم، لذا يُستخدم بصيغة “made”.
لإنشاء صيغة النفي، نضيف أداة النفي “not” إلى “had” لنحصل على “had not” أو يمكن اختصارها إلى “hadn’t”. هنا أيضاً نستخدم الفعل الرئيسي بصيغة “-ed” أو الصيغة الثالثة.
