To understand this better, we asked <\/span><b>130 <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.novakidschool.com\/english-teachers\/\"><b>Novakid English teachers in different countries<\/b><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0what they think about children using AI in education. Here\u2019s what they told us.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The short answer is: it depends. If children use AI to do their homework <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">instead of them<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, then yes, it is a problem. In that case, they\u2019re not really learning. But if they use AI as a tutor\u2014to help them understand a difficult maths problem or quiz themselves on the French Revolution\u2014the situation changes completely. Used this way, AI is not cheating.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Used correctly, AI can act like a personal tutor. AI can explain concepts in a clearer way, answer questions, check understanding, and help children learn more independently. Teachers Say: It Depends.            <\/h2>\n        <\/div>\n        <div class=\"blogHeadingText__content\">\n            <p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First of all, our teachers believe that homework is important for learning. We asked: <\/span><b>Can a child learn English without doing homework? And <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><b>81% of our teachers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> said that homework is necessary to learn English. At Novakid, homework is always assigned after a class, but it does not require pen and paper\u2014only <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.novakidschool.com\/blog\/novakid-game-world\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">interactive activities and online games<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. So kids don\u2019t even realize they are doing homework.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Having established that homework is important, we then asked our core question:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><b>Is doing homework with AI cheating? Only 15% of Novakid teachers answered with a clear yes. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0The vast majority think that AI can be a tool and that it depends on how it is used.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The answers were far from black and white. Many teachers explained that AI can support learning\u2014as long as it doesn\u2019t replace thinking. One teacher put it this way:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt is crucial that children still practice critical and analytical thinking skills, which can otherwise be replaced by AI. If there are restrictions on using AI for homework\u2014such as using it only for research purposes and not to fully answer the questions\u2014then I think it is fine.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another teacher highlighted the importance of understanding, not just copying:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThey must make sure they understand what the AI is producing. That\u2019s why so many responses came back to the same idea: <\/span><b>AI is fine as support, not as a shortcut.\u00a0 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Using AI isn\u2019t cheating if it helps a child learn, think, and understand. It becomes a problem only when it replaces effort, curiosity, and independent thinking.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Different prompts lead to <\/span><\/i><b><i>very different learning outcomes<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. If a child asks: \u201cWrite a 300-word essay on climate change.\u201d or \u201cSolve this maths problem.\u201d they are asking AI to do the work for them and very little learning happens.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prompts like: \u201cExplain why this answer is wrong\u201d, \u201cQuiz me on climate change based on this text.\u201d, \u201cExplain this in a simpler way.\u201d use AI as a <\/span><\/i><b><i>learning support<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. T<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">he child is still doing the thinking and AI acts more like a tutor than a shortcut.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n  <\/section>\n\n\n  <section class=\"section blogHeadingText\" id=\"blogHeadingText-block_ce90efce83ca1c835afce90646bc1540\">\n    <div class=\"blogHeadingText__wrapper\" >\n        <div class=\"blogHeadingText__heading\">\n            <h2 class=\"blogHeadingText__headingItem\" data-blog-heading data-section-id=\"blogHeadingText-block_ce90efce83ca1c835afce90646bc1540\">\n                Can a Teacher Tell If a Child\u2019s Homework Was Done With AI?            <\/h2>\n        <\/div>\n        <div class=\"blogHeadingText__content\">\n            <p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We asked teachers if they could tell if a child used AI in their homework. And yes, according to nearly 70% of teachers, <\/span><b>it\u2019s usually possible to notice<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> when homework was done with the help of AI. What counts most is whether the child has actually learned something. As one teacher shared:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cFor me, I will not judge if it comes from AI work or not.
